City Retreat | San Francisco, CA

At just 440 square feet, this Potrero Hill apartment proves that small spaces can have big style. Used as a city crash pad away from their primary home in Palo Alto, my clients needed this space to do a lot—offer definition for working, entertaining, and resting—all within a compact footprint.

From the start, they made it clear: they wanted bold color and a creative, visually interesting design that didn’t sacrifice functionality. We embraced that vision fully, using color and texture strategically to give each area of the apartment its own sense of purpose. Every square inch was considered, layered, and optimized.

Clever storage solutions, multifunctional furniture, and saturated hues helped transform the space into something both energetic and efficient. The result is a vibrant, personality-packed apartment that proves you don’t need a lot of square footage to make a big impact.
